Rest on yacht in Italy: regatta in Genoa

On June 2, 2010 in Genoa will start one of the most popular yacht racings in Italy - "Millevele" or "1000 Yachts". The mass of this race is provided by a simple registration - anyone can take part in the regatta in Genoa. To date, to participate in the regatta have registered about 250 vessels. The current regatta was preceded by another championship - Randa Boys Cup. This yacht race is organized by the Genoa yacht club for the youngest sailors. In 2010 the race was held on May 30. It was attended by about 60 vessels operated by the youngest captains in age from 8 to 14 years.

Start of the main race of "Millevele" is scheduled for 11 a.m. on June 2. The competition will start from quay port of Genoa in the area of Lido di Albaro. The race will take place along the scenic places on the Italian coast: from the quay of Genoa to the small town of Punta Chappa, near the famous resort of Portofino. Reaching Punta Chappa participants will return to Genoa.

In parallel with the yachting regatta, water sports amateurs will be able to participate in a special rowing regatta. Coastal rowing is the sport that was coined in France in the late 80's, today is spread throughout the Mediterranean. In Genoa, the organizers invite all who wish to try their skills in rowing off the coast of the Ligurian Riviera.
