In Venice on June 4, 2011 will start one of the biggest cultural events of Italy and Europe - Venice Biennale.

Biennale in Venice is a huge enclave of contemporary culture, which for a month occupies the territory of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. During the Biennale in Venice dance meets with visual art, theater - with sculpture and painting - with music.

It is worth noting that the Biennale has actually started. So, starting from May 11 on the stages of the two theaters in Venice - Teatro Piccolo Arsenale and Teatro Malibran - started dance festival Arsenale della Danza, which is one of the key events of this Biennale. The festival will last till June 25. One of its current leaders is dance troupes from Brazil.

On June 4 in Venice starts, perhaps, the main event of the Biennale - exhibition of visual art and lighting “Illuminations”. This year the exhibition will be held for the 54th time. It is expected that there will participate 82 artists from around the world. Producer of the exhibition is Bis Krueger – well-known exhibition curator from Switzerland, one of the founders of the «Parkett» art-magazine, which in addition to organizing the Venice Biennale has become known as the organizer of exhibitions in the Georges Pompidou Museum in Paris and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The number of countries that will be presented in Venice at this art show will be a record for Biennale. In total, their offices will open 89 states. For the first time at the Biennale will perform Andorra, India, Iraq, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Illuminations will last until November 27. During the Biennale Illuminations exhibits can be seen in the pavilions and on the streets of Venice.
