Water tourism in Italy plays a very important role. Hardly any other country has so many beaches as Italy. Water sports in Italy begin with the Mediterranean Sea, which washes all the coasts of Italy. Water tourism is also developed on the lakes and navigable rivers of Italy. Turbulent flow of mountain rivers create opportunities for rafting.

Water tourism in Italy combines several types of water sports and promotes development of major trends in sport. Many tourists in Italy like sailing, surfing, rafting, catamarans or wakeboarding. In many tourist areas of Italy you can take a ride on an inflatable speed boat or a banana. With a good breeze children will be interested to fly a kite.

Many of these water sports are available on the lakes located in northern Italy. There are also held competitions in some water sports in Italy. The cup of "America" is one of the best examples of international competitions held in water sports. There are various associations and organizations wishing to train many types of water sports. Many associations and clubs are actively developing water sports as one of the most important and exciting destinations of tourism in Italy. Therefore, among many tours in Italy are also offered rafting, canoeing, rafting on mountain rivers or canyoning.

However, Mediterranean cruises and river cruises are also related to water tourism in Italy.

The best rose will be chosen in Rome
Premio Roma international contest is a festival attracting representatives from around the world. This year the best rose will be chosen from 97 applicants. Different sorts of roses will be presented by flower growers from Italy, Poland, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Denmark, Romania and Spain. The favourites are still unknown. It can only be mentioned that the winner of last year competition was the French specialist Michelle Rychardier and his pink roses.

Symbol of Venice will be closed for reconstruction
The city authorities intend to reconstruct one of the major architectural symbols of Venice - Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal. For the last time Rialto was reconstructed more than 30 years ago and since then the increasing army of tourists didn’t add luster to the legendary attraction. Steps of the bridge were cracked and in 2011 one of the supporting pillars fall into the gulf waters.
