On March 5, 2010 will be opened the exhibition of masterpieces of the modern Italian art in the Sardinian town of Nuoro. The exhibition of works of Italian artists and sculptors will present the art of the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition will take place in an art museum in Nuoro. In total, about 60 works will be presented to the visitors.
The organizers of the exhibition have selected ten artists as the most outstanding representatives of the first three decades of the 20th century in the Italian art. The work of each of the artists will be presented in a separate room. The exposition will be anticipated by the three selected sculptures of Menard Rosso. Also in the halls of the museum in Nuoro you will see the masterpieces of Giacomo Balla, Umberto Baccioni and Gino Severini, the artists, whose paintings are emblematic to the Italian branch of futurism.
In addition to futurism, on Sardinia will be also presented the works of several prominent surrealists. In particular, in Nuoro Museum will be exhibited several paintings of one of the founders of metaphysical painting Giorgio de Cirico, which were specially lent for the exhibition in other museums. The paintings of Chirico’s brother, Alberto Savino, will be also exhibited in the museum.
The exhibition of the modern Italian art on Sardinia will last until June 6.
