Real estate in Sardinia is one of the most expensive in the world

Monaco
Sardinia is second after Monaco in the ranking of European resorts with the most expensive real estate

According to the rating, which was published by the German agency of resort and tourism property Engel & Völkers, Sardinia is among the European tourist destinations with the most expensive holiday real estate.

Engel & Völkers notes that on the resort coast of the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia is recorded very high price per square meter of real estate – 100.000 euros. Perhaps, the buyers will have to pay such sum of money if they want to acquire a luxury home or apartment in Sardinia, in one part of the Costa Smeralda, Romazzino Bay, which is located at the main resort of the island - Porto Cervo.

Sardinia is known in Italy as a center of respectable holidays. Many celebrities and famous businessmen have villas on the Costa Smeralda. It is hard to imagine that instead of this world of glamour and luxury half a century ago there were only several deserted beaches and fishing villages. Sardinia began to be developed thanks to Karim Aga Khan, a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, the Muslim spiritual leader and multimillionaire. In 1950-es he invited to Sardinia leading architects of that time, who created the legendary resort, which is now known as Porto Cervo.

The only land, where the cost of a square meter of holiday property is higher than in Sardinia is the principality of Monaco. Here in 2010, according to Engel & Völkers, price per square meter reached 148.000 euros.

But Sardinia managed to overcome such well-known tourist destinations as London, Paris, Munich, Barcelona and Cannes.

For those, who intend to travel to Italy for vacations on Sardinia portal privet-italia.ru offers rental of apartments, flats, houses and villas, as well as online booking of hotels in Porto Cervo and other resorts on the island.
