As well as disaster that happened on May 20 new earthquake occurred near Bologna, 40 km from the city, near the village of San Felice sul Panaro. It is currently known about 16 dead, while one person is missing. The authorities say the total number of injured reached 350 people. The number of people who have lost their shelter after the second earthquake rose from 6,000 to 14,000.

According to the head of vinegar manufacturers’ consortium, the total amount of losses from the destruction of warehouses reached 15 million Euros. Wine vinegar produced in this region is considered to be a delicacy. The cost of a liter of specific varieties of this product can reach 1,500 Euros.
Farmers of this region, who after the first earthquake estimated their losses at 200 million Euros, after the second shock say about 500 million Euros.
Heavy industry has also suffered. Due to the earthquake Ferrari factory in Maranello was forced to stop its work, although there are no reports about destructions at the plant. Either way, many companies and factories in the province of Modena were destroyed.
New earthquake destroyed dozens of monuments throughout the region. One of the most affected towns is Cavezzo.
Due to the earthquake a friendly match between Italy and Luxembourg was postponed. The game should have been held in Parma on Tuesday.
Current earthquake was called the biggest in Emilia Romagna in the last seven centuries. However, in Italy is not the only large-scale disaster of modern time. In 2009 the country suffered from another terrible cataclysm - L'Aquila earthquake, which killed over 300 people.
