Nus: Landscape, Wine and Culture

Nus lies on the orographically left bank of the Dora at an altitude of 529 metres, by the deep gorge leading to the Saint-Barthélemy Valley. Special experiences around Nus

The Planetario di Lignan offers approximately one-hour immersive shows with digital 4K projection across the entire dome. This special format makes full use of the dome for an immersive projection. Its approximately one-hour duration makes it a manageable standalone activity.

The Saint-Barthélemy Gran Tor is a 30-kilometre cross-country skiing loop in the upper Saint-Barthélemy Valley. Its length gives winter sports enthusiasts a clear indication of the scale for planning their own tour and provides a distinct focus alongside culture and wine.

Castles, sanctuary and historic sites

Castello di Nus is located above Nus near the hamlet of Plane, on a rocky spur overlooking the entrance to the Saint-Barthélemy Valley. Its location connects the structure directly with the valley entrance and the surrounding landscape.

Santuario Madonna delle Nevi a Cuney lies at an altitude of 2,656 metres at the foot of Becca del Merlo and is the highest-altitude sanctuary in Europe. For choosing your interests, this religious building combines religious history with a striking high-altitude setting.

Monte Ander, a peak, is located in the vicinity of Nus. Cima Longhede, a mountain, Becca d'Aver, a mountain, and Monte Faroma, a mountain, are also nearby. The landscape around Nus therefore extends from the gorge and verdant areas to several mountains and peaks.

The indigenous red grape variety Vien de Nus is cultivated in Nus. Nus Rouge is made from grapes of this variety. Nus Malvoisie is made from the local Malvoisie selection of Pinot Gris and produced from dried grapes. Alongside its landscape and history, Nus is therefore also represented by specific regional wine products.
