The churches and architectural landmarks in the town also tell the story of different periods. The Chiesa di San Lorenzo near the municipal cemetery is the oldest church in Vernole. The Colonna di S. Anna was completed in 1781, while the Fontana monumentale was inaugurated in 1933. It was designed by the Lecce-born architect Giuseppe Rossi. The Chiesa della Visitazione dates from 1641 and was Vernole's first parish church. Near Vernole's cemetery, the Chiesetta dell'Incoronata was built in 1600. The Chiesa di Sant'Anna dates from the 17th century and is dedicated to Vernole's patron saint.

Le Cesine has nature trails through pine forests and Mediterranean maquis that lead to observation huts in the marshlands. One of the trails is equipped for people with disabilities. A 36.7-kilometre cycle route begins at the Le Cesine nature reserve and heads towards San Cataldo. Visitors can walk along the towers and bastions of the castle of Acaya. Every August, the atmosphere, figures, sounds and flavours of the Renaissance come back to life in Acaya's fortified citadel and castle.
