Marina di Pisticci between beach, nature and sailing

Marina di Pisticci on the Ionian Sea combines coastal landscapes, protected natural areas and sailing opportunities. A dog beach area was established at Lido San Basilio, near the mouth of the Cavone. The landscape also includes the shallow seabeds typical of the Ionian coast. The shallow seabeds shape the transition between beach and sea and form part of the characteristic coastal landscape of the Ionian Sea. When planning a day by the sea, both the length of the beach and the section at Lido San Basilio therefore play a role. The coast combines the long beach with the area near the river mouth; when orienting yourself by the sea, both local references can be considered separately.

Protected areas by the sea and along the Cavone

The marine area of Marina di Pisticci belongs to the Natura 2000 network and is designated as a Special Protection Area. The beaches are also subject to Natura 2000 protection regulations to safeguard the biodiversity of their habitats. The “Foce Cavone” SCI area is a coastal wetland with diverse habitats and is home to migratory birds as well as summer visitors of community interest. For nature enthusiasts, the protected marine area and the wetland at the mouth of the Cavone represent different natural aspects of the town. Birdwatching and pine forest

Sailing at Porto degli Argonauti

The sailing school at Porto degli Argonauti offers practical boating lessons supplemented by theoretical explanations. Porto degli Argonauti can accommodate up to 450 boats, including boats more than 30 metres long. At Lido 48, Club Basilicata Vela offers training cruises.
