Since 12 March 2019, Raskatiello di Miskiglio di Teana has been included in the list of traditional Italian agri-food products (PAT). This classification places the local dish in a broader Italian context and makes it an important culinary point of reference for Teana.

Raskatiello di Miskiglio di Teana is a handmade fresh pasta made from wheat and field bean flour. At present, it is prepared exclusively in the home.

Carnival and special feast days

The Carnival of Teana is an ironic portrayal of life in the town and of its inhabitants. Its view of everyday life is therefore not soberly documentary, but shaped by a satirical perspective.

The carnival ends with a satirical-theatrical trial in which Carnuluvar is sentenced to death. This conclusion gives the festival a clearly recognizable dramatic form and is one of the striking forms of expression of the Carnival of Teana.

On 8 and 9 August, Teana celebrates Sant’Antonio da Padova and the Madonna delle Grazie with particular devotion. These two feast days complement the satirical carnival with a religious focus within local life.
