The Museo Angelo Rizzoli contains more than five hundred photographs documenting Angelo Rizzoli’s initiatives on Ischia. Villa Arbusto – Museo archeologico di Pithecusae houses archaeological finds from Ischia dating from the Neolithic to the Classical period. In the multimedia room of Villa Arbusto, a video about Ischia’s Greek history and the development of Pithecusa’s first settlement is shown. The Cup of Nestor is kept in the Museo Pithecusae at Villa Arbusto.

Traces from Antiquity to the Christian Era
The necropolis of San Montano yielded artefacts from the 8th to the 7th century BC, which are displayed in Rooms 2 and 3 of the Museo Pithecusae. The Cratere del Naufragio from this necropolis dates from the end of the 8th century BC and is considered one of the oldest examples of figurative vase painting in Italy. A scarab bearing the cartouche of Pharaoh Bocchoris (718–712 BC) was found in Tomb 325. The excavations and the Santa Restituta Museum are located in the underground rooms of the Basilica di Santa Restituta and bear witness to life and culture on Ischia from the Greek period to the early Christians. The Chiesa dell'Assunta has a single-nave layout; the ceiling fresco depicts the Assumption of Mary, surrounded by angels.
Garden, Path and Panorama
The botanical collection of Villa Arbusto includes Mediterranean strawberry trees, laurels, olive, fig, carob and pomegranate trees, as well as oleanders, cypresses and several umbrella pines. The garden of Villa Arbusto, like the museum rooms, is open to visitors. Monte Vico is the ancient acropolis of Pithekoussai; its viewpoint offers a wide panorama with views towards Procida and the Phlegraean coast. The Monte Vico path leads through Mediterranean maquis and offers panoramic views. Il Fungo is a green tuff rock that wind and waves have shaped like a mushroom; in prehistoric times, it fell from Monte Epomeo into the sea.
Thermal Park in San Montano Bay
Parco Termale Negombo is a thermal park in San Montano Bay. Negombo’s wellness centre combines thermal springs with the sea and the surrounding garden, as well as massages and treatments. Alongside its archaeological attractions, Lacco Ameno thus places a particular emphasis on warmth, water and relaxation.
Festivals and Seasonal Events
The Feast of Santa Restituta takes place from 16 May to 18 May. The celebrations include a sacred reenactment of the martyrdom and arrival of Santa Restituta, a procession at sea and a fireworks display. Ischia Safari is an annual festival of Italian cuisine in Lacco Ameno. Ipomea is an annual botanical exhibition held at the end of May.
