Cycling between Circuit and Long-Distance Route

During the 36th Gran Premio Città di San Mauro Pascoli, a 4.2-kilometre circuit was completed ten times, resulting in a total distance of 42 kilometres. The route ran along Via Circonvallazione Ovest and Via Bastia on SP10 Cagnona, as well as along other roads within the municipality of San Mauro Pascoli.

The 2023 Giro d’Italia roadbook also links Loc. Cagnona with a turn-off to V. San Giuseppe at kilometre 5.9 of the San Mauro Pascoli–Cesena route. For a different kind of cycling tour, there is the cycle route along the SP10 Cagnona provincial road, which leads from Gatteo to the sea. The Sentieri per l’Uso route also runs through the Uso river area in the municipalities of Bellaria Igea Marina and San Mauro Pascoli. These different route references help you distinguish between an event-related circuit and longer connections through the surrounding area.

Villa Torlonia and the World of Giovanni Pascoli

In the surrounding area, the Villa Torlonia Multimedia Museum presents Pascoli’s poetry in multisensory rooms in the tower cellars, with sounds, words and images. Villa Torlonia has been preserved as a protected example of a typical and now rare Romagna villa dating from the 17th or 18th century. In this way, the site combines literary history with a specific historic building in Romagna.

Villa Torlonia had seasonal opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays: in winter, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 3:30–6:30 p.m.; in summer, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 4–7 p.m. These times belong to an earlier listing and should therefore not be understood as a general guarantee for every visit date.

Casa Pascoli and the Local Craft Tradition

In the surrounding area, Casa Pascoli has been a national monument since 1924. After being destroyed during the Second World War, the house was rebuilt true to the original and converted into a small house museum; only the kitchen survived. In the municipality of San Mauro Pascoli, the shoemaking tradition also dates back to the end of the 19th century. Casa Pascoli and the craft tradition thus represent two different historical approaches to the surrounding area: the literary memory of a house and a locally rooted manufacturing tradition.

Rione Cagnona and Motorsport Address

At the Palio del Ciabattino, Rione Cagnona is one of the participating Rioni competing for victory. The Minimoto S.R.L. minimoto track has its address at Via Cagnona 121.
