Il Monte near Bertinoro: History, Wine and Landscape

The first documented mention of La Rocca dates back to 995, while the first verified historical mention of the Santuario della Madonna del Lago dates back to 1181. The Strada della Vendemmia is an alley approximately 100 metres long. Since 2001, seven canvases created by local painters have been permanently displayed there. In Bertinoro’s historic centre, the Strada dei Mestieri Scomparsi stretches along Via Dolcini and Via delle Mura. The Feast of the Madonna del Lago is celebrated on the Sunday after Ascension Day; it includes a solemn procession carrying the image to Bertinoro Cathedral. At the Festa dell’Ospitalità 2025, the Rito at the Colonna degli Anelli was traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday in September.
