Ronco combines the riverside landscape of the Ronco River with clear connections to pilgrimage routes and stages. The focal points are Ronco Lido, the Church of San Giovanni Battista in Ronco and the Via Romea Germanica; the nearby area also includes a museum, several palaces and a garden.
River Landscape and Ronco Lido
Ronco Lido is located directly on a path along the Ronco River, which is designated as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). The connection between the path and the river thus forms the starting point for orientation in the Ronco Lido landscape. If you view the area from a nature or pilgrimage perspective, this connection leads directly to the banks of the Ronco. The path along the Ronco therefore provides a clear landscape reference for orientation on foot.
Ronco Lido is also a multipurpose area focused on green spaces, sports and social life. When planning your stay in Ronco, Ronco Lido can therefore be considered not only for its riverside path but also for its green spaces, sports and social life if your stay is not focused exclusively on pilgrimage routes.
Pilgrimage Routes and Church Location
The Forlì–Rimini stage leads to the Ronco parish, the Church of San Giovanni Battista in Ronco. Pilgrims can pause at the Church of San Giovanni Battista in Ronco for a moment of silence and prayer. Silence and prayer give a peaceful character to a stay at the Church of San Giovanni Battista. The church thus remains the religious point of reference for this section. The stage connects the church location with the embankment along the Ronco River.
The Forlì–Rimini stage continues along the embankment of the Ronco River. In addition, Ronco Lido is a historic waypoint on the Via Romea Germanica. This route leads from the Church of Ronco along the Ronco River to Via Selbagnone. The Ronco River thus connects the stage's embankment with the route of the Via Romea Germanica. For route orientation, the river is therefore present both along the stage's embankment and along the route of the Via Romea Germanica.
