Rocca Pallavicino-Casali and sacred art

The Rocca Pallavicino-Casali was built from 1420 onwards by Rolando Pallavicino. Its square layout, round corner towers and two entrance towers define the complex's distinctive appearance. The Rocca houses the Cappella di Bonifacio Bembo, which preserves a 15th-century fresco cycle. On the upper floor of the eastern keep, there is also a former prison cell. Its walls still bear graffiti left by its former inmates.

The Collegiata di San Lorenzo Martire complements the historic setting with a Latin-cross floor plan and three naves. Pius XII elevated the Collegiata to basilica status.
