Lignano: Discover Cycling Routes, Nature and History

The hamlet of Lignano lies on a cycling tourism route that leads from Cerredolo to Quara and passes through Lignano. From Lignano, it continues towards Costabona and Villa Minozzo. On this route, Lignano follows Ca’ Casalotto. Culture and history between Lignano and Toano

In nearby Toano, the site has been part of the UNESCO MaB area of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines since June 2015. The Matildic Pieve di Santa Maria in Castello, together with the associated archaeological site, is considered the oldest example of medieval architecture in this area.

Lignano itself is also connected with a historical event: During a raid in October, a patrol encountered German troops in the hamlet of Lignano and withdrew towards Dolo. The patrol reached Costabona with the wounded Armando Leonardi. These connections between places add a specific episode of regional history to the themes of routes and landscapes.
