Pulfero combines easy-to-follow, well-signposted trails with places of both scenic and ecological interest. Monte Mia reaches 1,237 metres above sea level and is considered the municipality's most important ecologically untouched area. Another striking natural feature is the monumental chestnut tree Castagno monumentale di Pegliano near Coceanzi-Pegliano in Pulfero: The chestnut tree is 25 metres tall and has a trunk circumference of 783 centimetres.

A special landscape experience is offered by the Grotta di San Giovanni d'Antro. The long, intermittently active karst spring extends deep into the mountain. During heavy rain, a considerable watercourse flows through it; even during periods of low water, there are several lakes inside. The cave may not be visited independently in order to protect its natural and cultural heritage.
Hiking and Experiencing Nature
Several clearly described trail destinations are available for different day plans. The Anello Stupizza-S.Andrea-Montefosca circular route is 8.4 kilometres long and uses CAI trails 723, 752 and 735. The Sentiero naturalistico del monte Matajur is 12.6 kilometres long, begins in Mersino Alto and leads to the summit of Matajur at an altitude of 1,641 metres.
Near the Centro Visite di Stupizza is the Palestra di Roccia, managed by CAI Cividale. The Centro Visite offers a visit to a replica bear cave, videos and documents on university research, as well as themed trails for schools and families. In Pulfero, nature observation, trail experiences and engaging educational interpretation come together.
Churches, Fountains and Medieval Traces
The cultural sites also give a stay in Pulfero a multifaceted character. The central Fontane dei Cavalleggeri di Alessandria bears a Habsburg eagle and four portraits of rulers. The two fountains outside the town display the coat of arms of the Cavalleggeri beneath the Savoy crown.
Castello di Ahrensperg controlled the road connecting Cividale with the transalpine region of Noricum in Austria and was part of the medieval fortification system along the Natisone River. Its remains lie near Biacis, by the church of San Giacomo Apostolo. Above Lasiz, the church of San Donato is decorated with large-scale frescoes that probably date from the 16th century. As the Alpine Church of San Donato Martyr, it is included in the route of the 44 votive churches of the Natisone Valleys.
The Lastre di Antro were connected with the Banche di Antro and di Merso. Until the 19th century, legal and administrative assemblies were held there, contributing to the autonomy of the Natisone Valleys.
