This should be distinguished from the hamlet of Castello: it is a tiny medieval hamlet on a rocky outcrop above Dego and offers views of the surrounding hills. In the Santa Giulia district of the municipality of Dego, the mortal remains of Blessed Teresa Bracco rest in the sanctuary.

Chapel and Fossil Coral Reef

The Chapel of San Maurizio stands on a hilltop, surrounded by greenery, and, in addition to a small cemetery, has a large meadow suitable for picnics. Dego's fossil coral reef offers a completely different perspective on the landscape: its very well-preserved remains lie 1.5 kilometers northwest of the town of Dego. The reef is about 20 meters high and 150 meters wide. Alongside forests and paths, geology and the history of the landscape therefore have a place of their own in your travel planning.

Tira and the Palio dei Rioni

Local festive culture is also one of the themes that characterizes Dego. Tira consists of a sausage wrapped in soft dough and is prepared in oversized form for the Palio. The Palio dei Rioni combines a gastronomic festival with a carnival parade. During the three-day Palio dei Rioni, you can sample culinary specialties at the stalls of local associations, as well as enjoy live music and the parade.
