Architectural History and Accessibility

The bell tower of Parrocchia Santa Maria Assunta was first built in 1626 and heightened in 1884 according to a design by the architect Don Antonio Piccinelli. Remembrance and the Roman Past

The Giardino dei Giusti was designated by Municipal Council Resolution No. 60 of 28 May 2009 to promote a culture of peace and preserve and pass on the memory of people who, from the 20th century onward, opposed genocides and are known as “Giusti”. The Giardino dei Giusti contains trees dedicated to these people; their names were chosen by students of the Istituto Comprensivo di Calcinate.

The Roman past is also present in the area of Calcinate: clear traces of the Roman centuriation carried out in the 1st century AD have been preserved there.

Paths Along the Water and River Landscape

The fully pedestrianised asphalt path in Parco delle Brede is ideal for walks along the water. It connects the northern part of Calcinate at the intersection of via Beretta and viale delle Brede with the town centre at the intersection of via Falcone and via Moroni, running continuously along the Torrente Zerra.

Swimming and Sports at the Piscina di Calcinate

In summer, an additional children's pool with a variable water depth ranging from a few centimetres to one metre and two slides is set up at the Piscina di Calcinate.

The swimming pool measures 25 × 12.50 m and has a cover that can be opened and closed.

The variable pool depth can be considered as a separate factor when planning time in the swimming area.

The Piscina di Calcinate also includes a beach volleyball court, a small-sided football pitch and a bocce court.

The sports courts can be considered as a separate part of the day alongside swimming.
