Vigolo presents itself as a compact mountain village center with rustic houses, paved lanes that rise and descend, and passageways beneath arcades. Churches and Sanctuaries

The Church of San Rocco contains a precious altar dedicated to Saint Anthony. The parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Vigolo preserves paintings by A. Cifrondi as well as frescoes by U. Mirigliani and T. Poloni. Its furnishings also include a black marble altar created by the Bottega dei Manni di Rovio.

The origins of the buildings also span different periods: the Church of San Rocco was built after the plague of 1630 as a token of gratitude for being spared the epidemic. The Sanctuary of Madonna di Loreto, also known as Madonna del Dosso, was built in 1834 and features frescoes and a panoramic terrace overlooking the lake.

Hiking Trails on Monte Bronzone

Baita Gombo Alto lies on the northern slopes of Monte Bronzone in the municipality of Vigolo. It forms part of a network of hiking trails connecting Vigolo with Monte Bronzone and the main ridges in the surrounding area. A hike to the summit of Monte Bronzone begins in the village center and on the meadows of Vigolo, offering views of Lake Iseo, Monte Isola, Corna Trentapassi, and Monte Guglielmo.

The Vigolo–Colle Cargadura Trail begins at an altitude of 620 meters above the car park at Vigolo Town Hall and climbs along an old mule track towards Recursone. Along the way, the trail passes through a spruce forest planted more than a century ago. The route from Bratta di Vigolo to Monte Bronzone reaches Colle Cargadura at 1,022 meters on the ridge separating Val di Vigolo from Val Fonteno.

Further established routes are available for different tours: Percorso Giallo follows Trail 704 towards Giabella, then follows Trail 724 towards Monte Saresano and Pozza Alta, before returning towards Vigolo on Trail 701. Vigolo 360 is a complete trekking route across the hills of Vigolo that passes Baita Gombo Alto and returns to the starting point on the opposite side of the valley.

Strada Verde also connects several landscape areas: the 58-kilometer route leads from Vigolo to Tavernola Bergamasca and into the Valle di Adrara. A two-kilometer section runs on unpaved ground, is considered suitable for experienced hikers, and initially leads over steps.

Cheese, Franciacorta and Village Life

A visit to Latteria Bronzone demonstrates how milk is processed into cheese and other dairy products, including Stracchino Bronzone, ricotta, yogurt, and Formagelle. The tour ends with a tasting of the products served on a platter, accompanied by a glass of Franciacorta. Visits to Latteria Bronzone are scheduled for a time slot of approximately 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

In the valley of the Vigolo–Colle Cargadura Trail, traditional mountain farming focused on preserving the landscape shapes the surroundings.
