Cermenate is a destination where nature and cultural experiences exist side by side. The municipality is part of the Parco del Lura. This local park of intermunicipal interest was established to protect and enhance the valley of the Lura River. Almost 40 km of cycling and walking trails are divided into three routes there. A second cycling and walking route in the park is 5 km long and leads from Caslino al Piano via Roccolo to Cermenate. The circular route can be travelled in one direction and combined with a return journey on Trenord trains via stations on the Milano–Saronno–Como line. For your planning, this means you can choose between a single route and a combination of a cycling route with a return journey by train.

The Parco delle Groane and the PLIS della Brughiera Briantea can also be explored via walking and cycling trails. These trails connect historical, cultural and artistic sights. This makes it possible to consider trails and different themes for visits together when planning.

Parco Scalabrini can be accessed via Via Scalabrini and Via Montessori and covers approximately 48,000 m². The park includes a large playground and numerous tree species, including some centuries-old trees. Particularly in summer, Parco Scalabrini hosts cultural, leisure and sporting events. They are organised by the municipal administration and local associations. This specific green space therefore combines nature, relaxation and a seasonal programme of events.

Forest Ecosystems and Roccolo

The Centro Visite Roccolo is an interpretation centre for forest ecosystems, housed in a restored hunting structure known as a roc­colo. Dioramas reconstruct natural habitats in different seasons and illustrate the region's typical forest fauna. During educational guided visits, you can see the roc­colo's equipment and try out acoustic decoys that imitate the songs of typical native birds. Roccolo di Cermenate was built in 1932 and was given the name “Casina Carla”.

Villas, Churches and Sacred Art

Villa Clerici in Cermenate is a villa built before 1722. The Santuario del Crocifisso, which is also known as the Chiesa di San Vincenzo Martire, contains a painting of Saint Bernardino with the Madonna and Child dated 1473. The sanctuary also houses a wooden crucifix from the 16th century on a silver-plated cross. The Chiesa dei Santi Vito e Modesto was consecrated in 1907. Its floor plan is shaped like a Latin cross with three naves, while the façade has a Baroque character.
