Villa Sola Cabiati was built at the beginning of the 18th century. From 1754, it was home to Giuseppe Parini, who worked as a private tutor to the owner's children. The villa includes an Italian garden bordered by a wide wrought-iron gate with pillars and large carved stone vases. The pillars feature mythological motifs and give the entrance a distinct historical character.

Villa Mainona also represents the long development of prestigious buildings on Lake Como. It was built between 1670 and 1672 for the Mainoni family, who came from Intignano, a district of Tremezzo. The villa is one of the first historically documented examples of a grand villa with a large garden on the lakeshore. Its garden was used for citrus production; separate buildings were created to house the plants.

Rogaro: Panorama, Square and Local Tradition

Rogaro is a hilly district of Tremezzo with a distinctly panoramic setting. The old rural stone houses are arranged around a Baroque-style square. The district is also home to the Oratorio della Madonna di Einsiedeln, built in 1733.

Rogaro has a tradition of cultivating a particular variety of local asparagus.

The Museo del Paesaggio del Lago di Como

The Museo del Paesaggio del Lago di Como is housed in Villa Mainona in the Tremezzo district. The collection includes historical prints of Lake Como. The museum also has a multimedia system for presenting the environmental values of the Lake Como landscape. These include interactive touchscreen tables, historical maps and images, as well as short excerpts from films shot on Lake Como.

For your visit, the stated opening hours are clearly defined: From Easter to October, the museum is open from Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Villa Carlotta offers themed tours and workshops for individual visitors and groups; following reservation, these are available at individually agreed dates and times.
