Rocca Priora: Fortress, River Mouth and Excursions on the Adriatic

Rocca Priora has a portal in the Vanvitelli style. The town has been known as “Rocca di Fiumesino” since the early Middle Ages.

Rocca Priora is said to have been built at the mouth of the Esino River on the left bank to protect the borders of Falconara from attacks from Ancona.

The “Rocca Priora - Chiaravalle” cycling route leads from Parco del Cormorano in Rocca Priora to the centre of Chiaravalle. When planning the route, the centre of Chiaravalle should be considered the destination. The two routes therefore differ both in their mode of transport and in their endpoint: one leads to Rocca Priora via the bridge, while the other leads to the centre of Chiaravalle.
