Rondissone between Baroque and Nature

Rondissone combines architectural history with a connection to nature. The parish church of Saints Vincent and Anastasius was built in the Baroque style between 1759 and 1763, while the Isolotto del Ritano (Dora Baltea) Natura 2000 site also includes Rondissone. Baroque Sacred Architecture

The parish church of Saints Vincent and Anastasius is a tangible reference point for the town’s history, thanks to its construction period. It was built in the Baroque style between 1759 and 1763. The church also has an organ that was recently restored. Another religious attraction is the Chapel of the Beata Vergine delle Grazie, built in the 18th century. Together, these two buildings offer direct access to Rondissone’s sacred architecture without requiring an extensive sightseeing itinerary.

Historic Traces in the Town

Rondissone’s fortification history is also still visible in a few remnants. All that remains of the former fortification is an archway at the entrance to a narrow street in the Castello district. A square fortress also once stood in the highest part of Rondissone. Both clues preserve a historical status: they represent former structures, not a fully preserved fortress or a fortification that is still in existence.

Cycle Route No. 7 of Parco del Po Torinese forms a complete loop along the section of the Dora Baltea located within the park. The starting point and endpoint of this loop are in Borgo Revel.

Chivasso railway station is 8 kilometres from Rondissone. From there, services run on the Torino–Milano, Chivasso–Aosta, Chivasso–Asti and Chivasso–Alessandria lines; onward travel to Rondissone is by bus or car.
