San Sicario Alto: Mountains, Skiing and Excursions
San Sicario Alto combines alpine skiing with expansive mountain views and several opportunities for active excursions.
Skiing with an Olympic connection
San Sicario Alto hosted the women's super-G alpine skiing event during the 2006 Winter Olympics. This gives the resort a specific connection to the international history of winter sports. At the same time, San Sicario Alto is located at the edge of the ski slopes and is suitable for alpine skiing with a return to the hotel on skis. This location is therefore particularly interesting when choosing your accommodation if winter sports are the main focus of your trip.
Baby Fun Park in Sansicario
Sansicario has a Baby Fun Park with inflatable facilities that help children get started with skiing. The park complements winter sports in Sansicario with an area for beginners.
Panorama and mountain landscape
From San Sicario Alto, you can enjoy views of Colle del Monginevro, Monti della Luna and Monte Chaberton. The landscape is complemented by further mountain destinations in the surrounding area: Mont Fraitève is a mountain near San Sicario Alto. Mont Chaberton and Punta di Chalanche Ronde are peaks in the surrounding area, while Monte Sises is a mountain located around San Sicario Alto.
Hiking and mountain routes
Two routes with different key characteristics are documented for hiking and walking activities. The San Sicario Alto–Autagne–Colombiere–Solomiac–Mollieres route is listed as a 9 km circular route with 430 metres of elevation gain and a stated duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes. A second route leads via San Sicario Alto–Soleil Boeuf–Monte Fraiteve; it is 8 km long, has 1,000 metres of elevation gain and a stated duration of 4 hours.
The second route is shorter but involves significantly more elevation gain; its stated duration is only slightly longer.
Cycling, e-bikes and horse riding
Alta Quota Sport offers accompanied mountain bike tours and e-bike rentals. Sansicario Bike is located in the Centro Commerciale San Sicario Alto and offers e-bike rentals as well as a bicycle repair shop.
Another activity is offered by Il Grande Ranch in San Sicario Alto, with horse-riding opportunities. If you do not want to plan your trip exclusively around skiing or hiking, this specific focus can be taken into account alongside cycling and mountain activities.

Several forts serving as historic destinations are located in the wider regional area around San Sicario Alto.
