Getting there and the railway landscape

For travel by public transport, the GTT 3105 line is a specific point of reference. It serves the BROZOLO (STAZIONE FERROVIARIA) stop and runs between Chivasso and Asti. The approximately 51-kilometre-long Asti–Chivasso railway line runs through the heart of Monferrato.

Trails through Brozolo

Several routes pass through Brozolo. The Sentieri di Garibaldi e dei Cacciatori delle Alpi route is classified as a historical and natural-historical trail. The 30-kilometre Dalla Rul Verda alla Ro Verda route passes through Località Pirenta and the hamlet of Piai on its way through Brozolo. From Piazza del Municipio in Grisoglio, a hamlet of Brozolo, the Sentieri di Piai e Sentieri dei Boschi route leads towards Piai. The routes differ in their connections to Brozolo, Località Pirenta, Piai and Grisoglio.

A trail to Chiesa di Sant’Orsola

The Sentieri di Piai e Sentieri dei Boschi route reaches Chiesa di Sant’Orsola about one kilometre beyond Piai. Together with the starting point at Piazza del Municipio in Grisoglio and the direction towards Piai, this provides several clearly distinguishable reference points for orientation along the trail.

A railway journey with historic character

Brozolo was a stop on a historic train journey operated by Ferrovia del Basso Monferrato. The journey included an electric locomotive and a steam locomotive, Corbellini coaches from the 1950s and a luggage van.

Castles and parks nearby

The Castello di Piea and Castello di Gabiano castles are located near Stazione. Anyone wishing to include castles in their trip will therefore find two specific destinations nearby.

The wider regional area also includes the natural arch Arco Charles Emmanuel I - Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy, the Museo Clizia - Palazzo Luigi Einaudi museum and the Castle of Cereseto. These destinations broaden the range with a natural arch, a museum and another castle.
