Aldeno among vineyards and history
Accommodation in Aldeno
Aldeno is set in a rural landscape of vineyards and orchards on the eastern slopes of Monte Bondone. The village combines this agricultural setting with paths, historic buildings and events that bring local culture to life. If you are looking for a place offering landscapes, history and a variety of experiences, Aldeno provides several clearly distinct points of interest.
Parks, Landscapes and Paths
From the centre of Aldeno, the public Parco Albere can be reached via a footpath along the Torrente Arione. This means the park can be easily included in a walk. Sport fishing is also practised within the municipality of Aldeno, mainly at Parco delle Albere. The local angling club manages two ponds and a refreshment area there. This brings together a walking route, parkland and a dedicated fishing spot within the municipality.
Hikers can choose from several routes around Aldeno, each with a different character. The “Sentiero Attrezzato delle Stel” is a circular route on the slopes of Monte Bondone and is accessible from Aldeno. It includes equipped sections, for which a via ferrata kit is required. The trekking route “Da Aldeno a S. Osvaldo di Garniga Nuova” begins in Aldeno and initially leads through the surrounding vineyards. It continues through the lush vegetation of the Dossi before reaching Garniga Nuova. The path “Da Aldeno alla Chiesetta di Postal” takes you to an old lime kiln with explanatory signs. Alongside nature experiences, the route therefore also offers traces of traditional work.
Churches and Historic Village Scenes
Castello delle Flecche is one of the buildings in Aldeno that have been declared to be of cultural interest. Another highlight is the parish church of San Modesto, built between 1767 and 1776. Its single-nave interior is complemented by four side chapels, each with a marble altar.
The interior of San Modesto is also richly detailed: coloured stucco decorates the walls, while a Baroque high altar with columns and statues dominates the church interior. The historic village centre is also home to the civic tower. It is the only surviving element of the former church of San Zeno, which dates from the 16th or 17th century and was demolished in the 18th century.
Events and Local Character
Aldeno’s cultural character is also reflected in its events. In 2025, the “De Volt en Cort” festival included crafts, children’s activities, cuisine and live music in its programme. The event “Il Comun Comunale Lagarino” commemorates the medieval territorial administrative unit on the right bank of the Adige in Vallagarina. It included Isera, Nogaredo, Villa Lagarina, Pomarolo, Nomi, Aldeno and Cimone.
Wine and regional traditions provide another distinctive element. Aldeno hosts the summer event “Calici di Stelle”, held on the night of Saint Lawrence. Aldeno is also home to the historic event “Mostra dei Merlot d’Italia”. Together with the surrounding vineyards and orchards, these create a village landscape in which nature, local history and event culture exist closely side by side.
