Discover Ballino: Grotta La Camerona, Waterfall and Mountain Landscape
Accommodation in Ballino
Ballino among caves, waterfalls and mountain landscapes
The main attractions include a nearby cave, a via ferrata at the waterfall, a guided mountain hike, as well as castles, an archaeological site and a church in and around Ballino. This combination opens up various ideas for day trips without allowing any single focus to determine the entire journey.
Grotta La Camerona
The natural cave Grotta La Camerona is located near Ballino, is listed in the land register of the Province of Trento under number 120 VT, and is approximately 100 metres long. From the centre of Ballino, you can reach it via an uphill path along Via Castil in about 15–20 minutes. The character of the path is therefore just as much a part of the cave experience as the natural formation itself. The uphill path via Via Castil should therefore be taken into account as a separate section when planning a visit to the cave from Ballino.
The entrance to Grotta La Camerona is 20 metres wide, 12 metres high and visible from the SS 421. Its size and clearly recognisable location make the cave a prominent point of reference in the landscape around Ballino.
Waterfall and guided hike
The Via ferrata di Ballino runs alongside the Rio Ruzza waterfall at Passo del Ballino. It includes vertical sections and Tibetan bridges crossing the Rio Ruzza waterfall. A year-round, daily service on request was offered for the Via ferrata di Ballino.
A guided hike leads from Ballino to Rifugio San Pietro and through the forests of Monte Misone. The hike also includes a viewpoint overlooking Lake Garda. The combination of the forest passage and the panoramic view places this experience between active movement and peaceful appreciation of the landscape. For the guided hike, the starting point in Ballino, the destination Rifugio San Pietro and the forest section of Monte Misone can be planned together geographically.

The summits of Tofino, Dosso della Torta and Monte Biaina are located in the vicinity of Ballino. Redola is a summit in the area around Ballino.
