Cavedago lies in a wide hollow of forests and meadows. From here, the view stretches across Val di Non and towards the Brenta Dolomites. At the same time, the village is a strategic gateway to Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. Cavedago thus combines open landscapes, historic paths and concrete activities.

Hiking and Cycling Around Cavedago

If you would like to explore Cavedago on foot, the easy hike to Passo Santel and back follows a clearly described route: it starts at Piazza San Lorenzo and leads through forests and meadows. The moderately difficult circular route from Cavedago to Andalo and back also starts and ends at Piazza San Lorenzo. It passes through Maso Pozza, near the Church of San Tommaso and through Località Priori, before reaching Andalo at Maso Toscana.

The Via Imperiale also makes the route itself the focus: it is a historic path between Sporminore and Molveno and follows an old trail between the Sporeggio Valley and Banale. Routes 2 and 3, which pass through Cavedago, are marked with QR-code signs. These provide descriptive, photographic and historical information.

For mountain biking, the Anello Cavedago circular route is the highlight. It is 6,749.96 metres long, features two challenging but relatively short climbs and offers rest areas close to nature.

Churches, Masi and Rural History

Cavedago’s historical character can also be seen in specific places. The Church of San Tommaso is a Gothic building from the mid-14th century and preserves numerous 14th-century frescoes. From the SS421, it can be reached via a large car park in Maso Daldoss. The historic masi scattered throughout the Cavedago area bear witness to the community’s traditional rural, forestry and livestock-farming character. A different emphasis is offered by the isolated Church of San Lorenzo, a 16th-century church in Cavedago; it preserves valuable frescoes. The evidence of Cavedago’s former alpine pasture farming also includes the three alpine huts owned by the Municipality of Cavedago: Malga Dagnola bassa, Malga Dagnola alta and Malga Marocchi. They are currently used for private accommodation.

The canyoning experience includes swimming in clear water, sliding over natural waterfalls, descending through the gorge and jumping from rocks.
