Crosano can be discovered through concrete experiences and distinctive places: a short walking trail leads along quiet side roads, free climbing is possible on a natural limestone wall, and churches and vineyards give the village its own cultural and landscape character. The surrounding area also offers destinations that complement trip planning between nature, history and art.

Churches and Testimonies from Several Centuries

The Cappella di Sant'Antonio di Tragno has a single-nave layout and a Baroque altar made of Castione marble. The altarpiece depicts the Virgin Mary with the child and Saint Anthony. The combination of a clear architectural form, regional marble and religious imagery makes the chapel a specific example of Crosano's sacred character.

The Chiesa di San Zenone in Crosano also reaches far back into the village's history. During the first pastoral visitation documented in October 1456 on the plateau, it was one of four chapels or branch churches of the parish of Brentonico. The Chiesetta di Sant'Antonio di Tragno, which was dependent on Crosano, was built between 1664 and 1668. Both details place the local religious buildings in different historical contexts, without requiring a uniform construction history to be assumed.

Peaceful Trails and Climbing on Limestone

The “Crosano, Talpina” trail follows quiet side roads and is considered a short, easy walking route. Part of this trail runs within the Zona Speciale di Conservazione (ZSC) IT3120150 “Talpina-Brentonico” protected area. The route therefore combines a low-key form of walking with an explicitly protected landscape.

The circular route “Crosano – Giro della Croce” is associated with a direct start from Brentonico or its districts. At the Falesia di arrampicata di Crosano, there are around 30 routes with difficulty levels from 4c to 8a, as well as route development and an elevation difference of approximately 20 metres. Free climbing is possible on the natural, vividly coloured limestone wall. Crosano therefore offers both an easy walking route and a climbing area with clearly graduated difficulty, without the two activities having the same character.

Vineyards and Mountains in the Surrounding Area

Sondelaite is a young, family-run agricultural business on the sunny slopes of Crosano. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 200 to 600 metres.

The surrounding area of Crosano contains several different cultural and landscape destinations: the historic site of Trincee Nagià Grom, the Casa D'arte Futurista Fortunato Depero museum, the Museo Civico di Rovereto museum, the Palazzo di Giustizia and the Regina Mundi viewpoint. The destinations thus range from a historic site through museums and a distinctive building to a viewpoint. This provides a selection of different focal points for your planning, without requiring the individual places to be combined into a single circular route.

The surrounding area of Crosano also includes the peaks of Monte Vignola and Monte Varagna, as well as the mountain Monte Altissimo di Nago. The different designations are retained: Monte Vignola and Monte Varagna are identified as peaks, while Monte Altissimo di Nago is identified as a mountain. Together with the vineyards on the slopes and the trail in the protected area, this creates a landscape that encompasses both agricultural land and mountain-related destinations.
