Lago is a locality in the municipality of Tesero, in Val di Fiemme in the Autonomous Province of Trento. The locality includes the Lago (Tesero) protected area on the Torrente Avisio, the Nordic sports history of the Centro del Fondo e del Biathlon Fabio Canal, as well as several trails and activities.
Riverside landscape on the Torrente Avisio
The Lago (Tesero) protected area is located along the banks of the Torrente Avisio in the locality of Lago di Tesero. It encompasses the river section of the Torrente Avisio between the confluence of the Rio Lagorai and the road bridge to the Lago hamlet. The riverside vegetation consists mainly of alders and willows.
Nordic sport and biathlon history
The Centro del Fondo e del Biathlon Fabio Canal is located in the locality of Lago in the municipality of Tesero, in Val di Fiemme and in the Autonomous Province of Trento. It was built in the 1990s for the World Championships in Nordic skiing. During a guided tour of the stadium, visitors can aim a laser at a biathlon target.
For practical orientation, the Stadio del Fondo in Lago di Tesero is also important: from Cavalese and Predazzo, it can be reached directly by car via the valley road SP 232, and numerous parking spaces are available near the cross-country ski trails. The Stadio del Fondo also has lifts to the competition area and the grandstands, as well as designated parking spaces for visitors with disabilities.

The “Lago” cross-country ski trail at Centro Fondo Lago di Tesero is 3.5 km long, challenging and classified as a black trail. The Lago di Tesero PS fishing route is on a different scale: it is 0.4 km long and has 6 m of ascent and 6 m of descent. Avisio Rafting is based at the small lake in Lago di Tesero and offers descents on the Avisio River by inflatable boat or canoe.
The yellow Easy Bike Ring crosses the Avisio River and leads to the small lake of Lago di Tesero. It then runs through meadows along the Dolomites Cycle Route to Masi di Cavalese. Pattinaggio all'aperto Lago di Tesero also offers an outdoor ice-skating facility.

At 3.5 km, the “Lago” cross-country ski trail is longer than the 0.4 km Lago di Tesero PS fishing route; it is also challenging and classified as a black trail, while the fishing route has 6 m of ascent and 6 m of descent. Rafting on the Avisio, the yellow Easy Bike Ring and Pattinaggio all'aperto Lago di Tesero complement these two route options with water activities, cycling and an ice-skating facility.
