Mezzolago: Lago di Ledro, Trails and Dromaè
Accommodation in Mezzolago
Mezzolago between Lago di Ledro and Dromaè
Mezzolago can be explored through three clearly identifiable themes: the beach on Lago di Ledro, trails connected with the village and the landscape of Dromaè. The Church of San Michele Arcangelo also provides a historical reference that can be dated precisely. This allows you to determine whether your travel plans should focus primarily on the lakeshore, hiking, nature or local history.
Beach and lakeshore
Mezzolago Beach is one of four beaches on Lago di Ledro where access is permitted. Mezzolago Beach also has a floating jetty and picnic tables. Anyone wishing to spend time by the water at Lago di Ledro will therefore find both a floating jetty and picnic tables at the beach for a break by the shore.
Trails with different routes
The lakeside trail on Lago di Ledro passes through Mezzolago and therefore runs directly through the village. The “Fioritura a Dromaè” trekking route offers a different connection: it returns to Mezzolago via a forest road. Those wishing to distinguish between the lakeside trail and a trekking route will find two different routes here: the lakeside trail passes through the village, while the trekking route returns to Mezzolago via the forest road. Both routes incorporate Mezzolago into the hike in different ways.
Panoramas and plant life around Dromaè
The Dromaè viewpoint offers a panoramic view over the Valle di Ledro. Another viewpoint is located at the highest point of the Coste di Bariolo hiking trail; from there, visitors can look out over Lago di Ledro. Both descriptions identify specific destinations for experiencing the landscape, but they differ in what they overlook: Dromaè opens up a view across the Valle di Ledro, while Coste di Bariolo places Lago di Ledro at the centre.
At the entrance to the Valle di Dromaè in Mezzolago, visitors can explore a natural botanical garden with rare plant species. Those who would like to discover plants as well as enjoy wide-ranging views can visit the botanical garden as a destination in its own right. The Dromaè and Coste di Bariolo viewpoints focus on different destinations: across the Valle di Ledro and towards Lago di Ledro, respectively.
A historical reference in the village
The Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Mezzolago already existed in 1537. This specific date gives the village’s history a clear temporal reference and adds a cultural aspect to the landscape-related themes. Those who want to experience Mezzolago through more than just its lakeshore and trails will also find an early documented point of reference within the village.
Other places to compare for your trip
If you would like to consider other places in addition to Mezzolago, you can also choose Besenello, Baselga di Piné, Castello Tesino, Prissian, Massimeno, Canazei, Mezzocorona and Ischia Di Pergine.
