Peio Terme: Mineral Springs, Mountain Trails and Winter Experiences
Accommodation in Peio Terme
Peio Terme combines mineral springs, trails through the mountain landscape and winter sports into a destination with a range of attractions. During your holiday, you can combine relaxation, exercise, nature observation and cultural history without any one theme defining the town completely. The Terme di Pejo and the many trails in the surrounding area are particularly characteristic of the destination.

Thermal Baths and the Winter Mountains
The Terme di Pejo use three main mineral springs: Antica Fonte, Nuova Fonte and Fonte Alpina. The complex includes an indoor pool and a wellness area with a Turkish bath, saunas and whirlpools. This gives Peio Terme a clearly defined place for a quieter part of your stay alongside outdoor activities.
The Tarlenta cable-car station, located near the thermal baths, provides access to the ski slopes in winter and to numerous trekking and hiking routes in summer. The Pista Val della Mite is also useful for winter orientation: the eight-kilometre ski and snowboard descent runs from an altitude of 3,000 metres down to Peio Fonti. In the centre of Peio Terme, Noleggio Sci Pejo3000 offers equipment for alpine skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, ski mountaineering and snowshoeing.
Walking Trails Between Village, Forest and Lake
If you are travelling on foot, the very easy walking trail from Peio Fonti to Peio Paese, located at an altitude of 1,579 metres, leads to the Area Faunistica of Stelvio National Park. The trail from Peio Paese to the Area Faunistica is partially accessible with a pushchair. This allows you to take different walking needs into account when planning your day.
The easy walking trail to Malga Palù begins at Fontanino in Peio Fonti. It follows Trail 110 along the lakeshore to the mountain pasture. The Peio Fonti–Malga Val Comasine route runs above Peio Fonti through the wooded slopes of Val del Monte and offers panoramic views.
Another clearly identifiable destination is the Anello Lago Pian PalĂą circular trail. It begins at Malga Frattasecca in Peio Fonti, runs entirely through Stelvio National Park and leads to Lago di Pian PalĂą.
Nature and Wildlife
At the Runcal Wildlife Area, Casa dei Cervi uses pictures and descriptive panels to provide information about the characteristics and habits of the species living there. Its connection with Stelvio National Park and the trails to the nature stations give your stay space for nature observation as well as sport.
History, Crafts and Special Experiences
In the area around Peio Terme, history is closely associated with the Museo di Pejo. It focuses on the high-altitude military events of the First World War, known as the White War. The Museo della Guerra Bianca Peio organises information evenings and excursions to First World War sites together with Stelvio Park. The Museo di Punta Linke is visited with a guide and high-altitude mountaineering equipment.
The cultural offering also includes the Laboratorio Permanente di Tessitura Gianni Rigotti in the area around Peio Terme. Courses in weaving and textile-fibre processing are offered there. If, in addition to landscapes and wellness, you would like to include handicrafts or historical subjects in your trip, you will find two clearly different ways to do so here.
Activities away from snow and long trails are also possible: the Palestra di Boulder at Circolo Sportivo Pejo offers indoor climbing walls for all ability levels in the area around Peio Terme.
