Pochi between the Dürer Trail, vineyards and culture
Accommodation in Pochi
Pochi is situated on a natural terrace covered with vineyards and is part of Monte Corno Nature Park. This makes the village a starting point for a trip in which landscapes, trails and cultural attractions all play a role. The woodland paths, rural surroundings and views of the diverse experiences around Pochi and Buchholz are particularly characteristic of the area.
Open-air art in Buchholz
The Buchholz Sculpture Garden is an exhibition set amid nature, featuring 560 works of art made of bronze or marble. In Pochi, the sculpture garden is located below the Church of St. Ursula and is freely accessible all year round. If you would like to experience art beyond indoor spaces, this place combines viewing the works with the natural surroundings. Its location below the church also makes the sculpture garden a specific destination within the village landscape.
Church and traditional crafts
The parish church of Pochi is dedicated to Saint Ursula, Sant'Orsola in Italian. In Pochi, you can also visit the historic Fucina Isidor as part of a guided tour. There, you will learn about traditional crafts. Together with the sculpture garden, this creates a cultural focal point that combines different forms of art, local history and craftsmanship, without restricting you to a single theme.
Hiking trails through woodland and village
Several documented trails lead from Pochi into the surrounding landscape. The varied hike from Pochi/Buchholz to Lago Santo follows the historic Dürer Trail through the forests of Monte Corno Nature Park. The Buchholz Loop starts in the village centre, leads to the sculpture garden, continues through nature to the Niedere-Höfe Trail and then returns through the village to the starting point. For your planning, these two routes offer different itineraries: one connects Pochi with Lago Santo, while the other takes in the sculpture garden and returns through the village.
Passo Saùch and Roccolo del Sauch
The hike from Pochi to Passo Saùch starts in Pochi and follows Trail No. 1 and the Dürer Trail. From the Pochi car park near the church, the route initially follows the Dürer Trail through woodland and rural landscapes towards Rifugio Sauch. Another destination is Roccolo del Sauch, a former bird-catching facility where migratory birds are now mainly observed and ringed. The range of trails therefore extends from historic routes and woodland landscapes to nature observation.
Pochi brings together vineyards, a nature park, works of art, ecclesiastical heritage and a history of traditional crafts within a compact area. You can therefore discover the village either on a hike or by visiting individual cultural attractions. For further travel planning, you can also consider Mori, Cles, Imer, Fiavè, Ronzo-Chienis, Comano Terme, Località Produttiva I and Vason.
