Pozza di Fassa offers several ways to enjoy a stay among churches, museums and mountain landscapes. From the centre of Pozza di Fassa, a cable car takes you to the ski slopes at Buffaure.

Churches, museums and Ladin history

In the Meida district stands the old Church of San Nicolò. It dates from the mid-15th century and was remodelled in the early 17th century in the early Baroque style. The parish church of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice was built in 1956–1957; its very tall bell tower has shaped the panorama since 1957. The two places of worship represent different construction periods: San Nicolò dates back to the mid-15th century, while Santa Maria Ausiliatrice was built in 1956–1957.

In Pozza di Fassa, the Ciasa de noscia Jent on Piaza Deodat de Dolomieu houses a mineralogical exhibition. It was established in collaboration with the Circolo Mineralogico di Fassa e Fiemme. The Museo Ladin de Fascia presents the history of the valley and the Ladin community from prehistoric times to the present through traditions, legends, crafts and historical events.

The Pigui Experience is a virtual reality activity that takes visitors 2,400 years back to the valley’s first inhabitants. Alongside the churches and museums, it therefore offers a contemporary way of engaging with the region’s past.

Val Monzoni and the mountain landscapes

The Pozza–Val Monzoni–Passo delle Selle–San Pellegrino route is a high-altitude crossing that connects Val Monzoni with Passo San Pellegrino via Passo delle Selle. From Pozza through Val Monzoni, it passes extensive pastures, remote mountain huts and a single mountain pasture at the end of the valley. When planning the high-altitude crossing, it is important to note that the route connects Val Monzoni with Passo San Pellegrino via Passo delle Selle.

During the summer months, a shuttle runs from Pozza to Malga Monzoni every 30 minutes. This seasonal aspect is just as relevant to your planning as the different focus of the cultural and landscape destinations.

Regional culture and traditional cuisine

In the wider region around Pozza di Fassa are Latemar Art, a museum, Castel Salego, a castle, and the ruins of Castelveccio. The former Dossaccio Fort, a fortress, is also located in the area around Pozza di Fassa. At Baita alle Cascate, traditional dishes are served, including polenta with pork knuckle, venison stew and sausage.
