River Landscape Between the Adige and Noce

Nave San Rocco lies on the right bank of the Adige River. Between the Adige and Noce, the landscape is mainly cultivated with apples, pears and grapes. The area therefore brings together a riverside location along the Adige and agricultural land between the two rivers.

The history of Nave San Rocco is also connected with the river. An ancient river port was in operation in Nave San Rocco from 1235 onward. In 1893, a wooden bridge replaced the ferry service there. The port forms part of the town’s earlier history. More than six centuries lie between the dates 1235 and 1893.

Churches and Protected Heritage

The Chiesa di San Rocco is directly protected as a cultural heritage site. The basis for this is Articles 12 and 15 of Legislative Decree No. 42 of January 22, 2004. The parish church of San Rocco contains three marble altars. The cemetery is also home to the small church of San Sebastiano e San Fabiano. It may date from before the 16th century.

A Route for Walking and Cycling Tours

The “La via dell'asparago” route runs through the area of Nave San Rocco. It is slightly more than 7.5 kilometers long, has an elevation gain of 20 meters and can be used on foot or by bicycle. This provides three clear key figures for planning a tour: slightly more than 7.5 kilometers, 20 meters of elevation gain and the choice between walking and cycling. On foot, the route remains a walking trail; by bicycle, it is used as a cycling route. This distinction does not change the course of the route, only the means of travel.
