Lago di Terlago: waterway and fish species

Lago di Terlago is a shallow Karst lake at an altitude of 416 metres. A path accessible to everyone runs around its entire circumference. This allows you to include the lake in your daily plans as both a landscape and a walking destination. Pike, trout, carp, tench and chub are fish species found in Lago di Terlago and associated with fishing on the lake.

Fortress, tower and community history

Castello di Terlago was built as a fortress to control a narrow valley passage. The first towers can be dated approximately to the 12th century. Torre di Braidone retains a distinctive façade that makes it possible to understand the construction techniques of a residential and defensive building from the 12th to the 13th century. The two buildings demonstrate different historical functions: fortification and control on the one hand, and habitation and defence on the other.

The Pietra della Regola is a stone table at the intersection of Via Defant and Via Roma. In the past, people gathered there to discuss community affairs. As a specific feature in the streetscape, it complements the larger buildings with an indication of Terlago's former community life.

San Pantaleone and the Anello Vezzano - Terlago

The Church of San Pantaleone preserves frescoes by Verla dating from 1518. They depict the lives of San Pantaleone and San Sebastiano, along with other biblical episodes. On the Anello Vezzano - Terlago, the route towards Terlago passes directly by the small church. This connects the church's artistic decoration with a specific section of the cycling route.

The Anello Vezzano - Terlago is intended for bicycles. Depending on the option selected, the circular route is 12.8 or 15.4 km long and runs almost entirely on paved roads; only one flat section is unpaved. The two lengths give you a clear basis for comparing the extent of a cycling tour with your preferred daily pace.
