Vetriolo between Thermal Waters and Panarotta
Accommodation in Vetriolo
Thermal waters at Panarotta
Vetriolo lies on the southern slopes of the 2,002-metre-high Panarotta. The mountain is equipped for alpine skiing and shapes the character of the surrounding area. At the same time, arsenic- and iron-rich mineral water rises to the surface in Vetriolo. The strong water originates underground in the “Canopa” cave – a special aspect for anyone wishing to combine mountain scenery with thermal traditions.
Palazzo delle Terme and views of the Valsugana
At the Palazzo delle Terme (Vetriolo), thermal baths, inhalation treatments and physiotherapy are offered as part of an agreement with the Italian National Health Service. For your planning, the location is therefore characterised not only by its position on the mountain, but also by a specific thermal offering. The gardens of the Palazzo include an amphitheatre on a natural terrace overlooking the lakes and hills of the Valsugana.
The Palazzo delle Terme (Vetriolo) also includes a large solarium, a swimming pool and a whirlpool.
Hiking, trekking and cycling
Numerous trekking and mountain-bike routes lead from Vetriolo into the Lagorai mountain range and towards the Valle dei Mocheni. In the forests of Panarotta and along the forest roads, there are less demanding and more easily accessible walking paths. If you want to compare different forms of exercise, the options range from longer mountain and cycling tours to quieter paths.
The “MTB - Giro delle Pozze 2352” mountain-bike route starts at the thermal centre of Vetriolo Terme. The “eBike - Vetriolo Terme” e-bike route leads from the Infopoint on Viale Vittorio Emanuele towards Vetriolo Terme and onwards to the village of Compet. On the return journey, it follows the paved “dei Baiti” road through the forest.
This e-bike route also leads to a launch platform for free flight. From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view; in favourable conditions, hang gliders and paragliders may be visible in the air. The ascent from Levico Terme to Vetriolo has been the scene of challenges for Giro d’Italia riders several times, giving the route a sporting-historical dimension as well.
Culture along the way
The Chiesa della Madonna della Neve in Vetriolo was built in 1940. In the village of Vetriolo Terme in Levico Terme, the “Lupa del Lagorai” sculpture by Venetian artist Marco Martalar is also located at Pian della Casara.
Mobility in 2026
In 2026, the MOVE mountain transport service will run from Lago di Caldonazzo via Levico Terme and Vetriolo Terme to Panarotta. It will use a bus with eight seats and a trailer for bicycles and e-bikes. The service operates on all weekends in June, daily in July and August, and until 13 September 2026. If you coordinate your accommodation and excursions with the mountain region, this seasonal transport service is one of the specific details relevant to your planning.
