Historic centre: public fountains made of worked stone

In the historic centre, Villa Lagarina has public fountains made of worked stone, which are characteristic elements of the townscape. The fountain on Piazza Riolfatti can be traced back to the mid-16th century. It has an octagonal basin made of white limestone and a carved and decorated spout column. In this example, the basin and spout column combine material, geometric form and craftsmanship.

Palazzo Libera and Filatoio di Piazzo: architecture and textile work

The first architectural complex of Palazzo Libera was built around the mid-17th century under the patronage of the Gasperini di Monte Vineato family. The Filatoio di Piazzo is one of the very few examples of a silk-spinning or silk-twisting mill. Inside, the camshaft intended for spinning and twisting, together with its braces, as well as several working floors, have been preserved. At Palazzo Libera, the focus is therefore on the first architectural complex, while at the Filatoio di Piazzo it is on the preserved textile equipment.

Lago di Cei and Pra’ dell’Albi-Cei: lakeshore, forest and protected nature

Together with Laghetto Lagabis, Lago di Cei is one of the two depressions that form the protected area of Pra’ dell’Albi-Cei. The lake lies at an altitude of approximately 900 metres. Old beech and fir trees line its shores, along with a species-rich aquatic and shoreline flora. In addition to water lilies, this vegetation also includes the rare blue iris. The Pra’ dall’Albi-Cei protected area is of great importance for the reproduction of many amphibian and reptile species. It is also of ornithological interest because of its typical Alpine bird species.

Percorso Destra Adige Lagarina: horse-riding, cycling and walking trail

The Percorso Destra Adige Lagarina is a hilly horse-riding, cycling and walking trail along the “yellow line” of the old road. The municipalities of Villa Lagarina, Isera, Nogaredo, Nomi and Pomarolo are involved in the project. Anyone planning to travel along the route on foot, by bicycle or on horseback can take its hilly course into account as a planning feature. For personal planning, the hilly route is a consideration alongside the chosen mode of transport.

Festa dell’Assunta: religious celebration and Trentino cuisine

In Villa Lagarina, the Festa dell’Assunta is a traditional religious celebration with live music and religious ceremonies. The large Ferragosto feast includes typical dishes made with local products. At Malga Cimana, you can enjoy typical Trentino mountain cuisine. The feast combines the religious occasion with regional products; at Malga Cimana, Trentino mountain cuisine is also presented as a culinary destination in its own right.
