Arcades, Palaces and Historic Buildings

The historic centre of Piove di Sacco has 2.2 kilometres of arcades along the main streets. Elegant 17th- and 18th-century palaces line these streets, often built by prominent Venetian families. Anyone interested in urban history and regional architecture will find a clearly recognisable ensemble here, with individual sites reflecting different historical periods.

The Torre Carrarese is the surviving remnant of a medieval fortified castle in the heart of Piove di Sacco. The Teatro Filarmonico has an interior completely decorated with frescoes depicting figures from the world of music, a stage portal embellished with stucco and a loggia supported by delicate cast-iron columns.

Museums and Rural History

The Museo della Cultura Contadina is located in the Casone di Via Ramei and preserves the memories of the farmers who lived in rural casoni from the end of the 19th century onwards. Guided tours and cultural events are also organised in the grounds of the Casone di Via Ramei. The Museo Paradiso presents works of art and religious works from the Duomo di San Martino and from other churches and monasteries in the town of Piove di Sacco.

The L’Anello dei Casoni circular route begins and ends at the Casone di via Ramei in Piove di Sacco. Along the route, the Casone Rosso is considered a rural dwelling with a typical marsh-reed roof, small windows and a threshing floor.
