Campomarino on the Dune Coast

Campomarino combines a distinctive coastal landscape with light sandy beaches, protected dunes and cultural impressions. The Parco delle dune di Campomarino was established as a protected area in 1995. It encompasses the entire coast of Maruggio and includes the priority habitat of the “grey dunes”. As a result, the coast has a clearly recognisable landscape character in addition to its beach character.

The D’Ayala beach, also known as Spiaggia del Conte, offers a different aspect of the coast. It lies on the coast of Campomarino, is considered a naturist paradise and is protected and screened off by the Pineta D’Ayala. Its fine white sand is interrupted by sections of Mediterranean scrub and typical aromatic plants. Several wooden walkways make it easier to cross D’Ayala beach.

The seasonal CTP bus route 295 is relevant for connections with other places. From 1 July to 31 August 2026, it runs via Campomarino and connects Maruggio, Campomarino, Librari, Marina di Lizzano, Marina di Taranto, Lido Silvana, Montedarena, Gandoli and Taranto.

Summer Programme and Local Culture
