Viserba between Beach and Coastal Culture

Viserba developed into a small seaside resort between the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, the character of the town is shaped above all by the coast, attractions for children and families, sports facilities, and the combination of beach and architecture. Viserba’s sandy beach stretches for 3 kilometres. Its waters are shallow and protected by breakwaters. The coast therefore provides the starting point for the area’s other attractions, which range from family destinations to sporting activities.

Seafront Promenade and Liberty Villas

The new seafront promenade in Viserba is part of the redevelopment of Rimini’s northern coastal area. This redevelopment was inaugurated in 2021 and extends from Rivabella to Torre Pedrera. Liberty villas can be admired along the new seafront promenade. The promenade thus combines time by the water with an architectural accent. Those walking by the sea will find not only the beach here, but also a built aspect of the coast.

Sports and Events by the Sea

Viserba’s beaches have courts for beach volleyball and beach tennis. SUP or canoe excursions are organised at several beaches in Viserba. SUP stands for stand-up paddleboarding. The water sports on offer therefore range from SUP and canoe excursions to sailing and sport-fishing courses. The Circolo Nautico di Viserba also offers specific opportunities to engage with the water: sailing and sport-fishing courses are held there. A recurring event is the Beach Tchoukball Festival, which takes place every year in May on Viserba beach. May is therefore the specific time window for this festival when planning a trip.

Family Attractions and Italy in Miniature

Parco Marcovaldo is a public green space dedicated especially to children and families. The park includes a children’s play area. A path through Parco Marcovaldo connects Via Turchetta with Via Pastore. The park is therefore described not only as a green space, but also through a specific route within Viserba. Italia in Miniatura is also located in Viserba. The theme park comprises 273 scale models of famous buildings from Italy and Europe, expanding the family offering with a destination that showcases Italian and European architecture in miniature.

Villa Lydia and the Sacramora Spring

The decorative elements of Villa Lydia are attributed to Galileo Chini and his workshop in Borgo San Lorenzo. Thus, alongside the building itself, the villa also highlights a specific artistic context. The water at the Sacramora spring is considered diuretic and digestive; the spring can be used freely.
