Cardedu: Discover beaches, nuraghi and nature
Accommodation in Cardedu
Cardedu between coast, nature and culture
Cardedu combines its coast with archaeological sites, a local tradition of knife-making and the natural environment of Monte Ferru. At the Marina di Cardedu, stretches of light-coloured sand alternate with pebbly areas in more vivid colours. At the same time, the town's attractions range from Neolithic remains and nuragic structures to observing nature and marked trails.

Beaches and the coast of the Marina di Cardedu
The Marina di Cardedu has eight kilometres of beaches. Along this stretch of coast, expanses of light-coloured sand alternate with pebbly areas in more vivid colours. The coast of the Marina di Cardedu, which is exposed to the Scirocco, is also a destination for surfers. This means that classic beach days and an interest in the conditions for surfing are among Cardedu's clearly recognisable coastal themes, without the coast being limited to a single use.
Archaeology and crafts
The parish church of San Paolo Apostolo in Cardedu contains a Stations of the Cross created by Maria Lai. The Domus de Janas of Monte Arista, a Neolithic archaeological site, is also located in the Cardedu area. The menhirs of Costa Iba are Neolithic archaeological remains in the Cardedu area. The nuraghe Perda ‘e pera is one of the four nuraghi in the Cardedu area. Presoneddu is home to a still intact sacred well from the nuragic period in the Cardedu area. Cardedu also has a local tradition of knife-making.
Monte Ferru, nature and trails
The Monte Ferru nature oasis is part of the Cardedu area. A marked trail follows a stream bed to the Piscine naturali di Monte Ferru; there are picnic areas along the way. Mouflon, deer, wild boar and small falcons live in the low mountains around Cardedu. Anyone who wants not only to observe nature in Cardedu but also to experience it on foot will find a trail at Monte Ferru with a specific destination; there are picnic areas along the way.
Experience Cardedu by mountain bike
There are also specific points of interest for mountain-bike enthusiasts. A mountain-bike route crosses a section of Monte Ferru. A mountain-bike route also includes a stop at the nuraghe Genna Didu. In this way, the sporting activity combines with the landscape and cultural themes that shape Cardedu.
Which accommodation suits your plans
When choosing a hotel in Cardedu, you can therefore base the focus of your trip on specific locations: the Marina di Cardedu, the archaeological sites in the Cardedu area, Monte Ferru, and mountain-bike routes that include a section across Monte Ferru and a stop at the nuraghe Genna Didu. The parish church, the Neolithic sites, the Marina di Cardedu and Monte Ferru represent different interests.
