Culture between the Parish Complex and Craftsmanship
Those wishing to get to know Calangianus can explore its museums, churches, a Bronze Age burial site, as well as trails for cyclists and walkers. The Santa Giusta Museum is located in the Oratorio del Rosario within a parish complex that also includes the Santa Giusta parish church and the Oratorio di Santa Croce. The museum tour passes through three rooms and conveys the complex history of the Calangianus community.

The Museo del Sughero is housed in the town’s former Capuchin monastery. Video installations, scents and depictions of local craftspeople shape the presentation there. Alongside the history of the community, local craftsmanship is therefore also presented as a tangible cultural theme.
The Chiesa di San Leonardo also forms part of the historical orientation. It lies within the administrative boundaries of the municipality of Calangianus and is considered one of the oldest churches in the area. Its location and documented age complement the ecclesiastical references already visible at the Santa Giusta Museum.
Archaeological Traces at Monte di Deu
The Tomba di giganti di Pascareddha lies in a cork oak forest at the northern foot of Monte di Deu. The burial site was built from rows of stones and has a vaulted stele.
The rectangular burial corridor of the Tomba di giganti di Pascareddha is 12.5 metres long, 0.90 metres wide and 0.90 metres high. The site dates from the Middle and Late Bronze Age. Its dimensions and dating provide the visit with a precise archaeological context, without requiring any further historical assumptions.
Access to the Tomba di giganti di Pascareddha is via a path approximately 800 metres long. After the wooden bridge over the Rio Badu Mela, a further 200 metres must be covered. This sequence is part of the practical orientation on site and makes the stretch of path an independent part of the visit.
Cycling, Walking and Trails
The Calangianus–Monti route is suitable for both cycling and walking. The Ciclovia ex Ferrovia Monti–Calangianus–Tempio Pausania follows a disused railway line and runs for approximately 34 kilometres between Monti and Calangianus.
The former Calangianus–Monti railway line is almost entirely designated for bicycles; the exception is a short section on a local road. In the Parco archeologico di Monti di Deu, the trails cross streams via wooden bridges and can be used on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. Cycling therefore has a firmly established place alongside walks and horse-riding excursions.
The local highlights can thus be combined into a travel plan that takes culture and physical activity into account side by side.
