Folgarida: Winter Sports, Summer Trails and Val Meledrio
Accommodation in Folgarida
The ski connection between Folgarida Marilleva, Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo forms part of a shared ski area with more than 150 kilometres of slopes. For your travel planning, this means a focus on winter sports that does not end at a single ski area, but encompasses several interconnected destinations. In addition to winter sports, you can also take summer trails, nature and the history of Val Meledrio into account.

Winter sports in the Folgarida-Marilleva ski area
The Folgarida-Marilleva ski area has 25 modern lifts and 36 ski slopes with a total length of 62 kilometres. From Val di Sole, the ski area can be reached directly via four gondola lifts, two of them from Folgarida. When assessing the winter side of the destination, you can therefore consider both the size of the shared ski area and the number of lifts and slopes specifically associated with Folgarida-Marilleva.
Family Park Folgarida offers a snow tubing run and is also accessible to non-skiers. At Folgarida Kinderland, children aged three and over can take part in ski courses or private lessons. This results in different considerations for your planning: while the Family Park is also accessible to guests without skis, the Kinderland specifies the age of three as a concrete minimum age for participation in ski courses or private lessons.
Summer trails, waterfalls and a single trail
In summer, the Dimaro Folgarida area is a starting point for trails in Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. At the Cascate del Pison, you can reach an equipped viewpoint in around 15–20 minutes. For mountain bike enthusiasts, Trail Folgarida N° 712 also runs as a challenging single-trail descent from Rifugio Solander over forest and ski slopes through the centre of Folgarida to Daolasa. During the warmer months, you can therefore choose between nature park trails, the viewpoint by the waterfalls and a clearly described descent.
Culture and history in Val Meledrio
The Ecomuseo Val Meledrio is an open-air museum located along a trail that leads through the forest from the village of Dimaro towards Folgarida. In summer, guided tours are organised in cooperation with the Ecomuseo Val Meledrio, during which the old buildings are shown in operation. The Via degli Imperatori is a trail that conveys the history and traditions of Val Meledrio. This gives you specific points of reference for a trip in which trails, historic buildings and regional traditions play a role, in addition to sporting activities.
Folgarida for your travel planning
When choosing a hotel or other accommodation in Folgarida, you can tailor the character of your stay to these priorities. A winter stay has a different focus from summer planning with nature trails and a single trail; culturally, the focus is on Val Meledrio. This classification helps you view Folgarida not through a single experience, but through the interplay of the ski area, facilities for children and non-skiers, the landscape and history.
